Cover Reveal: Wait For You by J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout)

You might know I’m a huge fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout, so I’m super excited to be able to share with you guys the cover reveal of her new NA novel, Wait For You!Some things are worth waiting for…Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a […]

Top Ten Tuesday #7: Top Ten Authors That I’d Put On My Auto-Buy List

This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here.Top Ten Authors That I’d Put On My Auto-Buy ListThis week is all about authors we love so much that we would buy their books as they are released, no questions asked.1. J.K. RowlingUmm, plain and simple, she’s the queen. I have all her books so far and way beyond my love for Harry Potter, I love her writing style. It’s beautiful and it sucks you in, no matter the story. (Yes, I loved The Casual Vacancy (review).) She’s also a master at characterizations and […]

Book Review: Partials by Dan Wells

Book Review: Partials by Dan Wells

Despite a slow, very slow start and characters that were not the most engaging in the world, toward the end, Dan Wells did manage to convince me. This is a good story. But perhaps the best thing I can say about it is that it is a great set up for a series. It should be said that Partials is perhaps one of the more original dystopias out there. It’s a truly frightening post-apocalyptic world and has the necessary world building to make it semi-realistic. Perhaps the thing most hard to believe is how the people did still let themselves be controlled by the Senate. […]

Top Ten Tuesday #6: Top Ten Favorite Characters in Dystopian Fiction

Top Ten Tuesday #6: Top Ten Favorite Characters in Dystopian Fiction

This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here.Top Ten Favorite Characters in Dystopian FictionThis week is an interesting topic because we get to choose the genre to focus on. I picked dystopian fiction, even though technically it’s a sub-genre, because it’s my favorite genre ever. However, while making this list, I realized that with most dystopian books I either love it or hate it. So I have a lot of characters from the same series. But I’m spreading the love here. These guys (and gals) are epic.1. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger […]

ARC Book Review: Pivot Point by Kasie West

ARC Book Review: Pivot Point by Kasie West

Whoa. I didn’t expect it, but Pivot Point blew me away. It’s seriously a stunning debut. It hooked me from the first chapter and never let me go after that. Should you read this? My answer is a resounding yes. Let’s take a look at the reasons why. This is a stunning paranormal world. Addie lives in a community of gifted humans with supernatural powers. No, they don’t fly or have super strength. They have mind powers (seeing the future, telekinesis, persuasion, etc.). However, they live completely closed off from the outside world, and their existence must be kept a secret. Okay, tell me you […]
