A to Z Bookish Survey

A to Z Bookish Survey

Today, instead of a discussion post, because I don’t really feel like it to be quite honest, you get to know me a little bit better through this A to Z Bookish Survey, created by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner.Author you’ve read the most books from:According to Goodreads, that would be Rick Riordan! Not surprisingly. Eight books, two novellas, for a grand total of 10 books. Is that a lot? I haven’t even gotten to his Egyptian series yet.Best sequel ever:asdfjkl; I hate picking favorites. I think… Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Though Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas is a very close second.Currently reading:Stardust […]

Book Review: Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Book Review: Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Ho – ly – crap. Are you reading this series yet? If not, get on that stat. Whereas I loved Throne of Glass and only had one minor issue with the whole book that ultimately didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all… Crown of Midnight does it so much better. This book is amazing. I loved every second of it, and putting it down was physically painful. And writing this review is even more painful, because… how am I supposed to achieve a good review without spoiling anything? Ugh. Crown of Midnight is split into two parts. The first focuses on Celaena adjusting to her role as […]

Book Review: Poison by Bridget Zinn

Book Review: Poison by Bridget Zinn

Poison by Bridget Zinn is a truly enjoyable little fantasy story. It has some great characters (and one AMAZING one) and was easily digestible all around. When push came to shove though, this book never really did anything to stand out and wow me. That’s not to say that it’s bad… but I did wish for more. It had way more potential. But I don’t regret reading it, because what was written was definitely good. So, Poison basically tells the story of one extraordinary pig who gets swept up in an adventure when this girl, Kyra something-or-other, recruits her for a dangerous mission. Along the way she […]

Book Nerd Problems #15: ARC Envy (A Confession)

Book Nerd Problems #15: ARC Envy (A Confession)

This is a periodic discussion feature here at Snuggly Oranges about the many problems one can run into as a book nerd.#15. ARC EnvyI have a confession to make, and it’s one that will likely have you rolling your eyes or scoffing at me. Because, and I am fully aware of this, this is a total issue of “woe is me” “first world problem” ridiculousness. And for all intents and purposes, I am mad at myself for this. I don’t want this to stir up drama, but probably some of you can relate. Here we go:I suffer from a massive case of ARC envy. Here’s the deal. I’m […]

Book Review: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Book Review: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass is one of those books that has had a massive amount of hype. People fell in love with it last year, and if you look around the book blogosphere now, tons of bloggers are raving about its sequel, Crown of Midnight. Because they all have ARCs. Bitches. So I’m late to this party and MAN I feel bad because why did I put this off for so long? This book is just as epic as everyone makes it out to be. It’s one of my favorite series now. This book started off with a bang. None of the slow, massive worldbuilding info dump starts that […]

Monthly Digest: July 2013

Monthly Digest: July 2013

July 2013: the month of long commutes and getting used to working life…In July, I read a total of 7 books (+1 novella) and posted 8 reviews & 3 discussions. It’s been a month of contemporary reads for me, for the most part. I guess summer really does inspire contemporary romance. But the stats are down a bit, due to me working full-time now.Favorite ReadA Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody KeplingerReviewsThis month has been all across the board, in terms of ratings. There were books I totally LOVED and books I totally hated (GRR ADELA GRR), and everything in between. Aptly, the average rating for this month […]
