ARC Book Review: Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz

ARC Book Review: Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz

I don’t even think I can recall the last time that I’ve been so utterly freaking delighted about a book – that I loved every minute of it and happily put it on my “everything-i-wanted” shelf on Goodreads. Hook’s Revenge, Heidi Schulz’s amazing middle grade debut, completely swept me off my feet. I’m head over heels for a book… and a middle grade book at that. You know what, don’t even read my review, I can’t do this book justice – just go buy this book right now. …What? You’re still here? *sigh* Guess I’ll write a review after all then. And that, my friends, […]

Confession Time: As a kid, I hated reading..

Confession Time: As a kid, I hated reading..

As I’ve been unemployed for a while now, I’ve had a lot of time to think and lately my thoughts have gravitated towards reminiscing about the past. I figured I might share some of my reading history with you guys because… well because I feel like it. =/ I dunno. So I’m going to make a small confession that not everyone might know about me: I hated reading as a kid. Now, hold your horses! Put those tomatoes DOWN. Let me explain… or try to anyway. ARC Book Review: The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas

The Perilous Sea, or as I like to call it “THE SEA DRAGON COVER I HAS A SEA DRAGON FWEEEEEEEEEEE”, was – as you might already be able to tell – one of my very highly anticipated books of 2014. It’s the sequel to The Burning Sky, which I absolutely loved in spite of its flaws. The biggest weakness to The Burning Sky was admittedly the world building. Sadly, The Perilous Sea does not exactly make up for […]

Top Ten Book Characters Who Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

Top Ten Book Characters Who Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here. I had a really tough time with this topic. Because, like, how do you ever even decide. Do you pick characters you relate to? Who you have something in common with? Do you pick your favorite ships so you could can stare creepily? Do you pick the hotties so you can ogle them? *cough* Do you just pick the most awesome characters on the block? But what if the characters you love are not the most social? I’M NOT A PERFECTIONIST OVERTHINKER, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING […]

Monthly Wrap-Up: August 2014

Monthly Wrap-Up: August 2014

August 2014: the month of whatever even August is already over! And I’m still unemployed with no leads. *sigh* But this month was great for me in reading. I fell head over heels for audiobooks, which meant I got through a LOT of books. I actually got a great head start on my September review copies too. And overall, I was really productive on the blog – achieving a new first of posting something new every day of the month. I hope you guys appreciated that and don’t feel like I was overwhelming you 😉 I also participated in the #30daysofbookstagram on Instagram. August Reads […]
