March Posts

On the Big Screen

Since I’ve been reading so much, I haven’t watched much of anything at all. I rewatched The Newsroom and Sherlock for the umpteenth times, and So You Think You Can Dance is back on Dutch TV! I also watched House of Cards season 3 and it’s good, but I’m still not at the raving stage like everyone else apparently is. I did just start binge watching Legend of the Seeker, and so far I like it! #NOWKISS

Through My Speakers

In Real Life

  • Yesterday I had my last day at my first job. It was a temp assignment, so no worries. It was… tough. It’s been a tremendous drain on my energy for the past months, but I do feel like I learned a lot. I’m ready for the next adventure, but for the time being that means it’s back to the stressful phase of job hunting.
  • Book club happened again and it was lovely β™₯ Those girls are really special to me, so yeah. Can’t wait for our 24 hour readathon sleepover in May πŸ˜€
  • I’ve been spending some time with family. My mother and I have had some dinners together and she’s helped me finish the last few things on my new apartment, and I had a housewarming with the extended family too! I feel loved πŸ™‚
  • I’m in a bit of a blogging slump. I might write about it in length another time, but if I’m honest, I’m only hanging on by a thread right now. It’s always been about the community for me, but if I’m honest, I’m not really enjoying the community lately. Anyway, maybe my time in unemployment will give me some time and energy to brainstorm some changes.

That’s it for me. How was your month?

  1. You’ve read so much this month, I envy you. <3 I can't wait for Simon, glad to see you rated it highly. πŸ™‚ I've never seen any of the shows you've watched, well, minus SYTYCD, I've seen snippets of that one.

Haha, I've never heard of SAPHIRBLAU, but I bought Amelie! πŸ™‚ That's as close to foreign as I get and I THINK it has subtitles, but I'm not actually sure yet. Hahaha.

Okay, I listened to One Last Time and oh my gosh, I love that song now. I really liked her first album and I never really listened to her second. I need to change that.

Imagine Dragons<3 I love Gold and Shots.

Aw, it's sad (sometimes?) leaving first jobs, but since it's been so draining for you, maybe it's a good thing. πŸ™‚ I wish you luck on job hunting, it definitely is stressful. I'm in the same boat there.

Yay, I hope the book club goes well and a readathon sleepover sounds like fun.

I've been in a little bit of a blogging slump myself unfortunately. I hope yours gets better though. πŸ™‚ I know the community's a bit…, right now, sometimes, but it generally gets better, from what I've seen. Changes are good though, maybe, like you said, the free time you'll have now, will help give you some. And maybe a new outlook. Or possibly a small break for blogging, if you think that's necessary. I know breaks help me and I've had to take quite a few the past month.

I hope April goes better for you. <3

My month has been okay. I won a lot of books but….didn't read a lot of books. Thanks again for Lying Out Loud<3

  2. *hugs* We have the best book club of all time! <3
I hope April will be better for you than March was! Though you did awesome reading all those books πŸ™‚
I've watched The Seeker and it's pretty fun! And they wrap it up pretty nicely at the end if I remember correctly.

The Legend of the Seeker is SO ADDICTIVE. I finished this past weekend, lol. And now I might want to read the books. I mean the show wasn’t the best, but I just looove fantasy like that. And the people are so pretty. And also Cara forever.

  3. I am very sorry to hear that you have not been enjoying the community, Debby. I miss you quite a bit, and I hope that things get better for you soon. I have noticed your absence, but it happens, you know?

Good luck on the job hunt. I’m crossing my fingers that the next one is better than this (less drama, etc ect).

    • πŸ™ thanks Lyn. I’ve been feeling so blah about everything lately and demotivated as fuck, and it sucks because if you’re not active people forget about you SO quickly. Then that loneliness only further demotivates you and lalala the cycle goes on. I dunno. I’m trying to pick up the pieces and at the very least keep reviewing my review copies.

Thanks! I’ve got some good applications running and quite a few interviews, so I’m feeling pretty good about it.

  4. I would so love to see the movies for Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue, but the subtitle thing would make me crazy! Maybe they’ll do them in English someday. That gif is hysterical but I can’t remember what scene it was?

I love Ariana Grande’s voice. So powerful for such a tiny person!

    • The Ruby Red DVD has English subtitles, but Sapphire Blue didn’t – I expect there will be some fan-made subtitles online soon though. I haven’t checked in a while.

The gif is from a scene in an 18th century salon where Gwen performs the Time Warp from Rocky Horror because she’s drunk and asked to sing xD It was the most epic and hilarious thing. In the book she sang Memories from Cats instead, but the Time Warp is so much more fitting πŸ™‚
