Ten Authors I REALLY Want To Meet

I’ve been lucky enough to meet some of my very favorite authors: Samantha Shannon, Tahereh Mafi, Kody Keplinger, Cora Carmack, Sarah J. Maas, and Neil Gaiman – but obviously, there are still a bunch that I wish I could meet. Here are ten at the top of that list ♥

1. J.K. Rowling
Duh. The queen. The only author that got me reading enthusiastically as a kid. The one who made me a fangirl first. The one who changed my life. I WISH.

2. Rick Riordan
UNCLE RICKKKK. To be fair, I spotted him from a distance at BEA last year, but that hardly counts. I didn’t get to speak to him, squeal at him, or take a picture with him. *sigh* What I wouldn’t give.

3. Kasie West
THE QUEEN OF FLUFF. Ever since her debut, Kasie has been on my absolute favorite authors list. Everything she writes is magic. She uses my favorite tropes and assaults me with feels every time. ONE DAY I HOPE.

4. Paula Stokes
I ADORE PAULA. She is sweet and smart and so so awesome. She’s absolutely one of the friendliest authors I know, and we’ve talked so much that I would venture to call her my friend ♥ Hopefully someday somewhere in the world, we can meet for realsies 🙂

5. Victoria Schwab
Victoria, master storyteller, assailant of your feels, with imagination out the wazoo. I still have three books of hers to read, but I’m 99% sure that I’ll love them. I would love to pick her brain and learn more about how she comes up with so much brilliance.

6. Jay Kristoff
I’ve only read one of his books so far (because I am a massive fail when it comes to high fantasy) but I loved it, AND he just has one of the best author personalities around. He constantly makes me giggle on Twitter, so I wish I could see how he is in real life.

7. Marissa Meyer
The Lunar Chronicles is one of my all-time favorite series, and Marissa is just absolutely brilliant. She is definitely on my auto-buy list.

8. Laini Taylor
I also have only read one of her books (asdfjkl; fail) BUT I LOVED IT, and her prose is just. amazing. To be in her presence would be a dream come true.

9. Leigh Bardugo
The Grisha is another of my favorite series – such great writing and world building! I’d love to meet Leigh and then pester her endlessly about how Nikolai fares after the end of the series.

10. Liz Czukas
Czukas just debuted last year, but she’s already put out 3 books, and they’ve all been hits for me. She writes such awesome characters and shippy, bantery romances. I want to just hug her for these brilliant books forever.

  1. I’m right there with you about Marissa Meyer… she’s actually from my hometown, and we have at least three friends in common, and yet I’ve never gotten the chance to meet her! 🙂 Great list, I agree with almost all!

  2. I would love to meet J.K Rowling, but at the same time I’d probably make a fool out of myself, haha.

It’s awesome that you met Sarah J. Maas. She is in my top 3 together with Marissa Meyer, Victoria Schwab and Leigh Bardugo.

I would also like to compliment Laini Taylor in real life for her GORGEOUS writing-style and I want to hug Kasie West for writing contemporary books that I actually love.
