Book Haul #28: Filled with Nostalgic Manga Feels

Posted November 14, 2015 by Debby in Book Hauls / 3 Comments

Last month’s book haul was a bit later and larger than usual, so this one’s small enough to start compensating. *cough* I mean, also, October was an expensive month (what with Computergate) and I’m forcing myself to buy less books in preparation for Christmas as well. However, even with all those reasons, I couldn’t just not buy ANYTHING, okay?

Purchased

1

Last Will and Testament by Dahlia Adler: Yeah, I already had and read an e-copy of this one, but I loved it so much that I needed the physical copy to HUG. I actually ordered it back in July, but it was consistently out of stock on Amazon… When I saw that it was finally available again MONTHS later, I obviously jumped at the chance. HELLO MY PRETTY. HI. I LOVE YOU.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery: This is our book club book this month! Yeah, it’s time for a classic again, and I’ve heard such good things about this one that I couldn’t help nominating it. (Also, I was very convinced after finding out that there’s a webseries based on it now. WANT TO WATCH SO MUST READ.) I hope I love it! This edition is super adorbs.

Cardcaptor Sakura, Omnibus 1 by CLAMP: THE TITULAR NOSTALGIC MANGA FEELS. I’ve been eyeing these omnibuses for a while, because CCS is definitely in my top three animanga series of all time, but they’re big and expensive and wah. But October was so blah that I decided to reward myself with pure happiness. I already tore through this one (it was a reread) and started rewatching the anime too. I just can’t recommend it enough.

Maid-sama!, volume 3 & 4 by Fujiwara Hiro: I had this pre-ordered. Yeah. My Maid-sama feels are srs bsns. Obviously I’ve read this (multiple times) and I think it’s fantastic. So, you know. Go see my manga series review and just leave me here together with Usui. Carry on.
Won
Not technically a book, but…

YEAH, I entered a giveaway to win this foam shield, snatching it from the arms of some cute and innocent 12 year old, but I’m 12 at heart so yeah, bye. (Thank to the American Book Center!)

For Review

The Skylighter No Love Allowed

The Skylighter by Becky Wallace: EEEEEEEE! The Storyspinner was one of my FAVORITE 2015 debuts. It was just so fun, had such great characters and ships… and I’m not nearly done with that world. I can’t believe I got approved for the sequel! This is VERY EXCITING NEWS πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

No Love Allowed by Kate Evangelista: HI HELLO HIIII FAKE DATING BOOK WELCOME TO MY LOVING ARMS. Honestly, did anyone not see this coming? Of COURSE I needed this book in my life. I’m still a bit wary because it’s Swoon Reads, but I want more romance and this is my favorite trope. Soooo, duh.

  1. Anne of Green Gables is so amazing! I honestly went into it not expecting much, but Anne’s personality really shines through the narrative and it makes it easy to fall in love with the story. Hope you love it!
