Book Review: William Shakespeare’s The Clone Army Attacketh by Ian Doescher

The adventure continues! Followers of my blog will know I’ve been knee deep in the William Shakespeare’s Star Wars series for well over a year now. As a true Star Wars fan and lover of words, I cannot resist. William Shakespeare’s The Clone Army Attacketh brings another fun, funny, and insightful installment to the series, accompanied by the beautiful illustrations fans are already familiar with. The movie Attack of the Clones has been pretty much second to last in my order of preference of the Star Wars movies, so Doescher had his work cut out for him. However, he took my most hated movie and […]

Book Review: William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace by Ian Doescher

Book Review: William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace by Ian Doescher

I embarked on this quirky little series when I thought it would only be the original Star Wars series, so I was a bit surprised to hear about William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace. You would think that after three books, the novelty of the Shakespearification of Star Wars might wear off – but no! I enjoyed The Phantom of Menace immensely. I’ll be upfront with you and say that of all the Star Wars movies, The Phantom Menace is my least favorite. Book Review: William Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back by Ian Doescher

I was already impressed with and happily enjoyed reading William Shakespeare’s Star Wars: Verily, A New Hope, and while I did think some things could have been improved, I wasn’t expecting the sequel, The Empire Striketh Back to do it SO MUCH BETTER. This was so much fun to read, and it was much more fluid than the first one. From page one I could tell that there was a marked improvement in Doescher’s writing style. I was already impressed by how well he translated the Star Wars stories to Elizabethan, but he did have some hiccups here and there in Verily, A New Hope. […]

Book Review: William Shakespeare’s Star Wars by Ian Doescher

When I heard about the existence of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars, my curiosity was instantly piqued. I mean, I’m not gonna lie, I’m a pretty big Star Wars fan, and this sounded just completely hilarious and fun, so when Quirk Books offered to send me review copies of the series, I was all for it. This series is tons of fun for true Star Wars fan, make no mistake, while also showing off Doescher’s skill as a writer. What you see is mostly what you get with Verily, A New Hope. It takes the story of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and translates […]
