I chose contemporary for this topic because, well for most other genres, the books I’ve read are in series and then it’s just repetitive and everything. Since most contemporaries are stand alone, I have a LOT more to choose from. These are all my absolute favorites, and all of them have 5 star ratings. Let the gushing begin.

Every once in a while, I come across a song that fits perfectly with a book I’ve read. In this new feature, I’ll tell you about them! Adorkable by Sarra Manning
This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here. This topic was done back in October 2011, and it’s perfect for me! Seriously, a lot of the time what catches my eye first about a book is the title. Titles can be the deciding factor for me to pick up a book. A lot of the time, they can be quirky and long and immediately give me a sense of the humor that I can expect in the book OR tell me that I’ll be able to relate to it well. Click on each cover […]
Errrr, I went a bit overboard. Buuuuuut at the same time I regret nothing. A great stack of these books came in on Valentine’s Day, and I made it into a thing. Valentine’s gifts to myself, a nice meal, a good movie, and a romantic book. It was a wonderful evening, overall 🙂 (See Instagram evidence.) This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here. I had to tweak the title of this TTT just a little bit because I have a cold black heart. I hardly ever cry at books, and when I do, it’s for reasons that wouldn’t work on many other people. I usually just cry when I really relate to a character and what they’re going through. So it’s usually contemporaries. But also, this means that when a book achieves this nigh impossible feat of putting tears in my eyes, they also get a spot on my […]

I honestly can’t believe that because it feels like just yesterday it was August. I don’t know how the time has past so quickly. Um. Anyway. So I read 93 books this year. o_O Wow. Yeah, making a top ten out of that is not working for me (too many amazing books!), so I’ll give you my top ten 2013 releases and pre-2013 releases. I actually have a document ranking all 93 books I read in order, so […]
This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here. Wow, I love this topic, because it got me to look back on this year and see how many amazing books I read this year. I was still so much of a n00b at the beginning of 2013, so I had a lot of epic series to get into. Anyway, let’s just get on with it. 1. Kasie West I keep going on and on about how much I loved Pivot Point. It is an all-time favorite, and I just loved the skillful storytelling method Kasie […]

Click on the cover to go to its Goodreads page. 🙂 Which books made your list?Let me know in the comments!
