Top Ten Books At The TOP Of My Spring 2013 TBR List!

Oooh, this is a good topic. It’ll get me to commit to reading these ten books in the next three months. Well actually, 12. This’ll work. Last week’s TTT also helps – you guys were all really enthusiastic in the comments! It definitely gave some books a sense of priority.

1. Ink by Amanda Sun

No, I’m not going to stop fangirling over this. I will drop everything to read this when it’s in my hands. Still waiting for it to go live on NetGalley…. *grumbles*

2. Taken by Erin Bowman

I have an ARC for this! *faints* I’ve only heard amazing things, so I really need to get around to this soon. As soon as uni stops kicking my butt.

3. Transparent by Natalie Whipple

I was totally excited for this one as soon as I heard about it, and then I got approved for it on Edelweiss! I was surprised and amazed. I can’t wait to dig into it.

4. September Girls by Bennett Madison

Also got approved for this on Edelweiss! I had a childhood crush on a series about mermaids, so I’m hoping this book can reignite my love for them. Serious cover love too, by the way.

5. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Your enthusiasm in the comments last week has officially placed this very high on the list. I’ll try to get around to it ASAP. It sounds like I will completely fall in love with it.

6. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

I know, I’m completely awful for not getting around to this yet. February was just so filled with other books. Everyone’s raving though, so I will read it soon. I swear!

7. The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

Also very much recommended in last week’s TTT, I’m even more excited to get around to it.

8. Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson

Yet another one that got many recommendations last week. I’ve had this one on my list for so long, it’s disgraceful that I still haven’t gotten around to it.

9. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

I’m only like, 5 months late on this one… ^^; Uhh, yeah. I don’t know what’s stopping me, because I seriously loved the first. Hopefully putting it on this list will give me the push I need.

10. Fragments by Dan Wells

I got an ARC for this, just a bit too late to read it before the release date. But yeah, getting an ARC makes it a priority.

11 & 12. Pandemonium & Requiem by Lauren Oliver

Same as with Fragments, I got an ARC of Requiem. A bit late. And I never read Pandemonium, because I wasn’t fully convinced by Delirium. I am resolved to read the whole series now though.

Let’s Talk!

So… which books are on your spring TBR list?

  1. I’m reading Days Of Blood and Starlight now and it’s SO GOOD. SO MUCH ACTION AND CONFLICT AND FEELS. Made me cry about halfway too as well. I really liked the first one but I’m LOVING this. It’s hard to focus on study and not read it :/

    • EEP. You’re making me all excited. Okay, okay, I definitely have to get around to this really really soon! x_x Give me more hours in a day!

  2. You haven’t read Days OF Blood And Starlight yet? gahhyfhgytehyt!!! <-- the sound of my head exploding GET TO IT! It is sooo much darker than DOS&B. Ultraviolet is awesome, as you probably already know since it’s on your list. I still need to get around to reading Cinder and Delirium! I don’t know much about the others, but I’m sure I will as soon as you write your review for them, since y’know…I pretty much stalk your blog…. O.O

    • I know I know!!! *hides* I’M SO SORRY. I will get to it. I swear. I really don’t know what’s stopping me.

EEP, definitely read Cinder, hihihi, that one’s so cool. And awwwww ♥

    • I know right?? Such good reviews for Taken and Scarlet. And Transparent… just… UNF. Such a great concept. 🙂 Thanks! I hope you enjoy them too when you get around to them!

  3. Ahhh! You really need to read Shadow and Bone and The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I think I mentioned this before that I’m not much of a fantasy reader but those books KILLED it.

I’m also super excited to read Ink, Transparent, September Girls, and Ultraviolet.

Also: YOU HAVEN’T READ LAINI TAYLOR?! Do that right now. Holy cow, she’s amazing.

    • Hahaha, yes yes yes, they are definitely going to be read soon! 😀

YAY I’m so glad you’re excited for those too. asdfjkl; I need more reading time.

x_x Ouch, everyone’s getting on my case about that one now. I really need to do that soon, yeah.

  4. Ahh Pandemonium and Requiem, Ultraviolet are all soooo good!!!

And O.M.G. You haven’t read Days of Blood and Starlight?!?! [im][/im] You must read it ASAP!!

I still need to read Shadow and Bone, and I haven’t read Cinder but I hope to get to that series soon too! I’m also wanting to read Ink and Taken!!

Awesome list here! And new follower by the way 🙂

    Here’s my Top Ten

    • Haha, thank you! If I take anything away from the comments, apparently Days of Blood and Starlight needs to come first xD So shameful. I will do it soon!

Oooh, Cinder’s awesome, so you definitely should read that. And everyone is raving about Shadow and Bone.

      Thank you for following!! 🙂

  5. YES YES YES to Taken! And Transparent. EEEEEEEEP.

ERMEHGERD Scarlet is AMAAAAAZING! You are going to LOVE Scarlet (the character). And hopefully you will join me in my swooning for Captain Thorne because he is HAWT.

    • I CAN’T WAIT TO READ THEM. Seriously. These new releases just sound awesome.

Hahaha, yeahhh you and Judith both… I’m so nervous now to let you guys down if I don’t like it as much. xD But soon. SOON.

  6. Don’t feel alone on not reading some of these. I haven’t read any of them – eek! (Another one of those uni-kicking-my-butt types. Thank gosh it’s almost summer!)

The first four you listed I haven’t even heard about, but they definitely look interesting. My TBR list is growing by the second! (Nw if only I could win the lottery ><)

    • Stupid uni getting in the way all the time. *sigh* Sadly I don’t even get summer really, I’m supposed to work on my thesis during the summer. So… yeah, we’ll see. I do have a week off at the end of March though, hopefully I can make some headway then.

YAY glad to help your TBR list to grow 🙂 Those are four new releases I just can’t wait for. ♥

  7. YES, read Days of Blood and Starlight ASAP! I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but DoBaS blew my mind. Seriously awesome. I really liked Shadow and Bone and am excited for Siege and Storm. Scarlet was great. I still need to get to Girl of Fire and Thorns as well. I hope you get to all of these soon!

    My TTT

Randi @ Cardigans, Coffee and Bookmarks

    • Haha, all the comments are freaking out about DoBaS. I may need to bump it up on the list a bit. I will definitely be reading all of these. They are officially prioritized. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  8. I LOVE SCARLET! EVEN MORE THAN CINDER EEEP! And you know how I feel about Shadow and Bone 😀 I’m also crazy excited for Taken and Transparent, since they look SO GOOD. And like you, I never got to reading Pandy + Requiem haha. Need to get on that soon, since I own all the books now 😛 Soon. Ish.

    • Hahah, yes, yes, I know about your feelings for Scarlet and Shadow and Bone xD No pressure at all. SOON. SOOOON.

I’m sort of not motivated to read Pandy and Requiem… But I really need to. But yeah, it’s at the bottom of the list for a reason.

    • 😀 I definitely can’t wait to read Taken, should get to it in the next two weeks 🙂 I’m glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read Shadow and Bone yet, haha. I’m scared my expectations are too high now though.

      Thank you!

  9. You really have to read Scarlet asap! It was so good, I liked it even better than Cinder! 😀
I can’t wait for Taken, Ink, and Transparent too, all of them sound sooo good!
Shadow and Bone wasn’t really my thing, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it Debby! (:

    • Yessss, I know, I will read Scarlet soon hahaha. It’s good everyone keeps pushing me though. It will happen. I promise!

I just want Ink. NOW. Amanda said it should go live on NetGalley this month. Why is it not there yet? I’m gonna start checking daily, seriously.
