It’s finally the last day of the year! I honestly can’t believe that because it feels like just yesterday it was August. I don’t know how the time has past so quickly. Um. Anyway. So I read 93 books this year. o_O Wow. Yeah, making a top ten out of that is not working for me (too many amazing books!), so I’ll give you my top ten 2013 releases and pre-2013 releases. I actually have a document ranking all 93 books I read in order, so this isn’t too difficult.Evidently, this is the year contemporaries kind of took over. Dystopias are out. High fantasy remains in. Sci-fi is rising with the discovery of time travel and parallel universe books.
Top Ten 2013 Releases

1. Pivot Point by Kasie West: I can’t get over this book. So much perfect. FEELINGS.
2. All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill: Time travel GOODNESS. ALSO EM AND FINN. MY HEART.
3. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas: *flails* I mean. I mean. Epic romance and kick ass action. Hell yes.
4. Just One Day by Gayle Forman: I’m still trying to put the sequel out of my head. But this one was perfect.

You have so many books that are also in my list and even some that should have been but I just didn’t have space fir them, even after cheating!
Also, a few of those are in my TBR ist so hopefully I’ll love it as much as you did!
Happy New Year!
I’ve got The Bone Season here. Sounds like I should read it now!
Thank you for sharing your favorites.
Here’s my Best of 2013!
I think time has made my love for Pivot Point grow even stronger–cannot wait for Split Second! And All Our Yesterdays, my goodness. I am still an emotional mess from that book and I read it a month ago. I also loved This Song Will Save Your Life and The Distance Between Us(It’s Kasie West, so of course it’s good! Her books are phenomenal). I enjoyed Everneath, but for some reason I haven’t picked up Everbound yet. I should get on that. Oh, it makes me so happy to see Smart Girls Get What They Want on your list! That book is a favorite of mine and I feel it’s often overlooked.
Agh, Pivot Point was so long ago that I’m kind of desperate to reread it. I’m forgetting just how much I loved it, though I’m still absolutely certain that it deserves that spot at #1. Hahaha, we have such similar taste it’s ridiculous xD
Crown of midnight, Cress, This song will save your life, Everbound, Siege and storm and The bone season were all very successful reads for me too. I wasn’t a huge fan of All our yesterdays, but I look forward to the next book. I really need to read Pivot Point.
Adorkable is my 2014 book like I promised on the bookclub. The same for Stormdancer. Meant to be looks adorable, The fault in our stars was impressive and I love Throne of glass. I’m going to look into Smart girls get what they want (love the title) and Stardust is so adorable <3
Basically YES MEL READ ALL THE BOOKS ESPECIALLY PIVOT POINT AND MEANT TO BE. *breathes*
Bone Season is on my library queue, glad to hear it doesn’t disappoint! Lovely list!
Ooh I hope you enjoy it! 🙂 It’s so wonderful. Thank you!
I love beyond all loves that you ranked ALL OF THE BOOKS YOU READ.
My heart is bursting.
Hahahaha it’s a compulsive habit but it does help for this kind of overview 🙂 My spreadsheet is expanding for 2014 so that I can have more statistics and such as well xD
Huge apology in advance for this super long comment, but in summary: I FREAKING APPROVE
5 of your top ten 2013 releases are on mine, so we totally think alike. And the ones that you have on yours that I don’t have on mine I just haven’t read yet but plan on reading. I have to admit I struggled slightly with THE BONE SEASON though, so idk if I can get through that one. BUT YAY FOR SIMILARITIES. You clearly have good taste 😉
TFiOS made it onto my list too and THE THRONE OF GLASS is just ah! Amazing! Good pick! I’m currently reading BEING SLOANE JACOBS by Morrill right now, and I will definitely be checking out MEANT TO BE because of that. ADORKABLE sounds so well… adorkable! I will definitely be checking that one out now! Thanks so much!
Have a happy new year!
– Lili
Never apologize for long comments! I love long comments hahaha, especially when they are so lovely 😀
The Bone Season is really slow at the beginning 🙁 but I hope you can power through because once you do get a grip on the world it’s just AMAZING.
Ahhh I have Being Sloane Jacobs pre-ordered… but it hasn’t shipped yet. *sighs* I hope I get it soon. Basically I’m jealous. But YES MEANT TO BE AND ADORKABLE. 😀 I hope you loooove them.
Ultraviolet made my list last year – loved it!
I am so happy to see Pivot Point on here – that book made my day!!
Ultraviolet is amazingggg I’m so sad that it’s so underrated 🙁 I wish more people would check it out. Though I also still need to read Quicksilver. *sigh* so many books so little time.
Pivot Point is just. asdjfkl; *gushes*
Great list. You’ve got some really amazing books on your list – These Broken Stars made my list too. I really want to read The Bone Season. I just got Pivot Point, Shadow & Bone and Siege & Storm for Christmas and I can’t wait to read them. Nice picks! Happy New Year 🙂 My TTT.
At last I gave in and got both Shadow and Bone and Throne of Glass. If seen those books (or their sequels) on way to many top ten lists these past couple of weeks to wait any longer. (I wanted to wait until the series is complete or at least some more books are out to not have to wait so often between books)
Haha, I understand entirely. But those series are completely amazing, so I hope you like them!
Oh hey, we were just talking about this. I don’t have much to say because I already knew about your love for these things, but:
YAY SMART GIRLS
Also, I’m still scared of Bone Season.
YES SMART GIRLS CHRISTINA. You haven’t gotten to that review yet, bahaha, but I LOVE IT SO MUCHHHHHHHH
*pats* I hope at some point you will conquer that fear… because I really do love that book :’)
