Top Ten Books on My Winter 2014-2015 TBR List

Posted November 25, 2014 by Debby in Uncategorized

This is a meme from The Broke and the Bookish. For info about the topics and how to participate, click here.

As a compulsive completionist, it is very distressing to me that this topic is happening now, because I’m sooo not done yet with my Fall TBR (by which I mean I’ve only read 7 out of 10 – the shaaaaame, the shaaaaaaaaame). *cough* Anyway, this winter I’m hoping to really catch up on review copies, get them out of the way, and then I can catch up on some of my other TBR Top Ten Tuesdays from this year – books that I missed. But to resist from overlapping too much, I’ll feature some upcoming new releases too 🙂

My Choices

Feed My True Love Gave To Me Liars Inc

1. Feed by Mira Grant
This is our book club pick for December! I’ve had the series for ages because Christina gave it to me for my birthday, but I was still hesitant about the whole zombie thing. Hopefully book club will give me the push I need and then it will blow me away and I’ll be all aboard for zombie stories. *cough* I guess.

2. My True Love Gave to Me, edited by Stephanie Perkins
It’s still my plan to read this on the plane back to Texas for Christmas 🙂 Short holiday romances? Sounds absolutely perfect.

3. Liars, Inc. by Paula Stokes
Technically this is also a review book, but I want to read it early because I’m on the street team! I want to know what I’m promoting, and dive into it, thinking of all sorts of creative content to promote it 🙂

New Releases

The Conspiracy of Us Fairest Inspire

4. The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
I don’t want to be shallow and say DAT COVER but seriously, that cover. Okay, but also this is supposedly a YA Da Vinci Code? GIVE IT TO ME NOWWWWWWW.

5. Fairest by Marissa Meyer
I’m all about this series, so this is obvious.

6. Inspire by Cora Carmack
I’m all caught up on Cora Carmack’s books right now, and she’s officially on my auto-buy list, so this is another obvious pick. But also, new adult paranormal? AND Greek mythology??? My body is ready.

Review Copies

This Shattered World Red Queen The Boy Next Door Beastkeeper

7. This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
I picked up the bound manuscript of this one at BEA and EEEEEP. It’s almost time. I’m probably reading this this week. Can’t wait to see more of this spectacular sci-fi universe.

8. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Early reviews of this have been pretty promising so far! I’m excited! Always down for more courtly fantasies.

9. The Boy Next Door by Katie Van Ark
This sounds like the PERFECT winter romance. Another potential read for my Christmas vacation 🙂

10. Beastkeeper by Cat Hellisen
This middle grade fairy tale fantasy with the TOO CUTE cover is screaming at me to read it. Soooon.

That’s my list! Which should I read first?

  1. I’m not really into zombies but Feed was fantastic. It’s about soooo much more than zombies (including blogging!!!) and also has a kickass brother-sister team. I hope you’ll like it 🙂

  2. Man I forgot about like half of these! GAH! My list is lacking but your is superb! You should totally read My True Love Gave to Me because I bought a copy & had it shipped to my house in the US but I won’t be there to read it until December 18th. Either that or This Shattered World or Red Queen. Whatever you read first, like tweet it so that I can live vicariously through your reading endeavors! ;D

  3. I’m really curious about Inspire by Cora Carmack. I haven’t read all of her books, but I’ve enjoyed the ones I have read.

And I definitely want to read My True Love Gave to Me before Christmas. I love that cover of the book. SO much prettier.

  4. I just finished My True Love Gave To Me, it’s wonderful!! All of the stories were great though of course I loved some more than others. Lots of holiday cheer and some swoooons 😀

Fairest for sure! Also yes, that Conspiracy of Us cover haha. Mark me down for books 7-10 also. GREAT list this week!!!

  5. I’ve read 2 books from my Fall TBR pile, haha. I put Feed on the list with the same reason: I need a push to read it. The conspiracy of us sounds really good and I’m in love with the cover. FAIREST. I don’t need to explain my excitement *bounces* I’m curious to see what you think about Red Queen, I found it very promising. I can’t waaaaait for Beastkeeper.

Happy reading and good luck with your list 😀

  6. Beastkeeper is getting some nice reviews. I have the ARC and it is on my list for winter as well. Yah! I hope it is a good one!

Also, so jelly over Red Queen arc!
