Blog Tour: When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill

Posted February 25, 2015 by Debby in Giveaways

Last year I got my hands on an early copy of When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill (a.k.a. Liz Czukas) and I couldn’t help myself. I read it immediately, regardless of the MONTHS left until its release. I knew I would love it, and I absolutely did, so I’m so happy to get to be a part of the blog tour today!

When Joss Met Matt stole my heart instantly with its friends-with-benefits premise. Matt and Joss definitely are great friends, and that friendship only strengthens over the years. They start the benefits side of things to cope with breakups – building on the theory that “the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody else”. But, with the added benefit of having a trusted “sorbet sex” partner, you know the sex will be good and there will be no funny business. They set up rules and everything… but slowly but surely some feelings do develop. This romance is cute and sexy, funny and awkward, and the two main characters are bantery magic.

For my part of the blog tour, I made a little playlist of a few songs that I think definitely convey the story and emotions within this excellent romance. Enjoy!

Friends are amazing and wonderful and offer a sense of belonging.

People like us, we’ve gotta stick together
Keep your head up nothing lasts forever

Breakups suck, but friends can help each other out, right?

Don’t wanna break your heart
Wanna give your heart a break

“I need you,” becomes a magical phrase.

It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn’t call but I’ve lost all control and I need you now.

What happens when you get in too deep, and you start breaking those tenuous rules?

You and I get so damn dysfunctional, we stopped keeping score.
You and I get sick, yeah, I know that we can’t do this no more.

Maybe you’re not ready to come clean.

A broken heart is all I have now
But some things are better left unsaid

What happens when tragedy strikes and you need more?

I know what you need right now
You need to come on home so I can hold you tight.
I’ll get you through the night

But no worries, there is a happy ending.

Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you

About When Joss Met Matt:

Untitled-2When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill
Published by Ballantine Books on February 24th, 2015

Ellie Cahill is poised to coin the term “sorbet sex” with her charming twist on the age-old ‘friends-with-benefits’ story.

Dating can be fun, but it can leave a nasty taste in your mouth. For Joss, ever since her longtime boyfriend cheated on her, she doesn’t want her last memory of a guy to be that jerk. Enter her college friend, Matt. They come up with a theory: after a bad break-up, a person needs to cleanse the palate with a little sorbet sex. Lovers for a night, but always back to being friends in the morning. The two can handle it because they have a contract: rules they wrote, rules they follow and rules they can sometimes bend. The arrangement works: everyone needs a little sorbet now and again … until it starts to be the only thing you want. And then Joss breaks the one rule they never wrote down: don’t fall in love.

About Ellie Cahill

Ellie Cahill is the pen name of Liz Czukas, author of WHEN JOSS MET MATT a New Adult Romance debuting from Ballantine in February 2015. Liz Czukas is a freelance writer (on sometimes sad or boring topics), and also writes books for young adults (which are rarely sad and full of kissing).

She lives outside Milwaukee, WI with her husband, son and the world’s loudest cat. She types too loud (according to her husband), spends too much time on the Internet, and can’t get enough of disaster movies. There is *always* a song stuck in her head, and she once won a hula-hoop contest.

This giveaway is hosted by Ballantine Books, and ends on March 3rd. You can win one of TEN copies of When Joss Met Matt, which, as you can probably tell, I highly recommend. So go and enter enter enter!

  1. I love this playlist! I hadn’t heard a bunch of the newer songs too and that’s always fun to find new upbeat music. My February playlist was getting too moody, LOL!

I have a weakness for books where best friends fall in love, so this is definitely going on my MUST READ list for 2015. Hopefully I can get to it soon!

    • 😀 always happy to help bring some upbeat fun songs to light! I was really hoping I could fit Little Mix in here somehow, but I couldn’t find the right song. (But yeah, if you need another rec – there’s one 😉 )

YAY. I hope you like it!!

    • Aww, haha, I just like the licensed ones because you know they won’t be deleted abruptly, you know the sound quality is good, and yeah. They’re pretty 🙂

I HOPE YOU WIN I HOPE I HOPE. Seriously, this is excellent fluffy NA. I think you would like it 🙂
