IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN. I am actually really excited to announce that I am 9 for 10 on my Winter TBR – and the 10th is only delayed because it became our book club pick for April! SO HA. I pretty much won that one. I really liked the structure I used in my last seasonal TBR – picking some books from my shelf, some review copies, and some new releases – so I think I’ll do that again! It really keeps me reading a variety of titles.

From My Shelf

The Kiss of Deception Vicious Rebel Belle

1. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
I just got the sequel for review, so I really want to get into this series now! A lot of my friends really loved this one, so here’s hoping I do too!

2. Vicious by V.E. Schwab
Fingers crossed this will be our May book club pick 😉 I can’t believe I’ve had this on my shelf for over a year but haven’t read it yet. *sigh* This year I will catch up 100% on V. Schwab, for reals.

3. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
I’ve heard this is super fun and refreshing and I just have a feeling that I’ll need that in between some of my heavier review books coming up. And hey, the sequel’s coming out soon too!

New Releases

The Fill-In Boyfriend A Court of Thorns and Roses The Start of Me and You

4. The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
The fact that this is not on Edelweiss is VERY DISTRESSING TO MY HEART, and I know that some lucky bitches people have physical ARCs of this and I am just a hopeless ball of jealousy. Favorite author + favorite trope (fake dating)? Please get here yesterday.

5. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
As of this moment I am still excited about this, but the hype is reaching a critical mass for me. *sigh* I feel like everyone’s already read this and it hurts. I am a very jealous creature, I know.

6. The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord
It has been pre-ordered and yessss I can’t wait for the swooooooooons.

Review Copies

LionHeart_US_005 An Ember in the Ashes Crimson Bound Lying Out Loud

7. Lion Heart by A.C. Gaughen
*excited screeches* ♥♥♥

8. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I have heard only the BEST things about this book, so I am SUPER STOKED. Moar epic fantasy, MOAR I SAY.

9. Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge
I loved Cruel Beauty so much last year, so obviously I needed this one super badly. I can’t believe I haven’t already read this, tbh.

10. Lying Out Loud by Kody Keplinger
Okay, so this one actually isn’t in my possession YET, but it will be soon, and likely the second it is, I will be dropping everything to read it.

  1. ACOTAR is on mine too Debby and I’m pretty nervous alike. I’ve only seen one less than perfect review and I like that it’s not completely and utterly perfect, but it worries me. PEOPLE LOVE IT. *deep breaths Amanda* I’m also very jealous of people with The Fill-In Boyfriend, I still need to read On The Fence, but dammit, I love West’s writing, I’ll read it soon! Great variety and good luck Debby! 🙂

  2. I know, I was disappointed that The Fill-In Boyfriend wasn’t on Edelweiss, either! I want to read that so badly. I actually never request books from publishers (besides through Edelweiss and Netgalley) but I might request this one. It’s a little late, though.

Rebel Belle is super fun. I think you’ll like it.

  3. Vicious is one of my standouts from this year – I hope your book club picks it!

I can’t get my hands on The Start of Me and You till mid-April, but when it happens I’ll be reading it ASAP! I can’t wait for more Emery Lord goodness <3

Crimson Bound was BETTER than Cruel Beauty – I need my own copy for sure!

  4. Great job on nailing your Winter TBR pile! I also hope Vicious turns out to be our book club pick. My copy is waiting. Lion Heart and Crimson bound. Yes to the yes. I hope Crimson bound is just as good as Cruel beauty. I can’t wait to dive into her gorgeous writing-style.

  5. 9/10 off your winter TBR?!?! You’re my hero! Great idea to mix shelf/new release/review copies! I opted for only 8 books on my list, hoping that would help me to actually read them ALL. I think the best that I’ve done before was 6/10 =) I, too, am envious of those who have already gobbled up A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I can’t wait to have my very own copy in my hands! I just finished Heir of Fire (about two days ago), and I’m already in Maas withdrawal.

  6. Wow 9 of 10 is so impressive! I’m hoping to read Kiss of Deception too, I’ve heard it’s excellent and I want to read it before the sequel comes out! LOLLLLL “lucky bitches”! Love her contemps as you know, I need this book! And The Start of Me and You! But most of all I NEED TO READ ACOTARRRRR. The hype really is out of control, I hope I love it as much as I want to. Lion Heart 😀 ROBLET! An Ember in the Ashes and Crimson Bound are on my coveted list as well. I’m not as sure about Lying Out Loud even though I liked The Duff… I’ll probably wait for your review 🙂

You can go 10 for 10, I know it! Happy reading.

  7. Awesome list! Vicious is one that I have been wanting to read for the longest time, even though I don’t really read any adult novels ever. It just sounds so interesting. I’ve also heard that it has heroes and villains in it, which makes me even more eager! I’m hoping this gets picked for you too, so that I can see your thoughts on it after. 😀 An Ember in the Ashes sounds so amazing, so that’s super cool that you have a review copy! I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

  8. *takes fangirling for Court of Thorn and Roses off the table, squishes it into the corner*

I do hope you enjoy Kiss of Deception. The romance unnerved me at times, but the story was amazing, and I loved the world building.
