Most Wanted: February 2016

Posted January 30, 2016 by Debby in Uncategorized

January’s been busy busy, but it’s finally almost February! And February has a lot of exciting books coming out. Here are the ones I’m most looking forward to.

February 2nd

Starflight Stars Above

Starflight by Melissa Landers: I still haven’t read Alienated, but the pre-pub buzz about Starflight is EVEN BETTER. And yes, I need more sci-fi in my life.

Stars Above by Marissas Meyer: UMM YES DO GIVE THIS TO ME NOW. I’ve actually read all of the novellas that were previously released online, but obviously I’m dying for the epilogue. My copy shipped yesterday and asdfjkl; waiting sucks.

February 9th

Call Me Maybe Blackhearts

Call Me, Maybe by Ellie Cahill: FINALLY MORE OF LIZ CZUKAS’S NA BRILLIANCE. I’m very upset that this is only being published digitally though. 🙁 Wanted a copy to hug, as I inevitably fall in love with it. Oh well.

Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman: I am SO READY for YA pirate-y stories. SO ready. And the pre-pub buzz for this has been largely outstanding. I’m very tempted.

February 16th

The Shadow Queen The Girl from Everywhere Riders

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine: I’m reading this right now, actually, and it’s interesting. It hasn’t blown me away yet, but I am definitely drawn in by the magic, the DRAGONS (omg), and the classic fairy tale feel.

The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig: Timey wimey adventures. I am down.

Riders by Veronica Rossi: I’m not the biggest fan of Under the Never Sky, but the four horsemen of the apocalypse? Hell yeah. Talk about original concept.

February 23rd

A Gathering of Shadows Final Kingdom of Ashes The Forbidden Wish

A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab: I just finished reading my bound manuscript of this and OH MY GOD. Schwab nailed it. Again. I don’t think she can ever really disappoint. This book was AWESOME. Though the ending was EVIL.

Kingdom of Ashes by Rhiannon Thomas: I already talked about my intense excitement for this one in my last book haul, so just, yeah. SO stoked. The only question is whether or not I’m gonna reread A Wicked Thing before I read this one. And I’m thinking I probably will.

The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury: This cover is stunninggggggg. And yeah, I do want more awesome YA genie stories. Please don’t disappoint!

  1. A gaaaaaaathering of shadows. My precious.
The forbidden wish sounds SO good. I will be a really sad Mel if that one turns out to be disappointing.
I’m going to give A wicked thing another shot, perhaps I will like it better this time, because I do plan to read Kingdom of ashes.
Stars above: YES, GIVE IT TO ME.
Blackhearts: highly anticipating this one 🙂
The girl from everywhere: liked it.
    Riders: sounds interesting.
The shadow queen: liked this one too.

  2. I read Starflight and I did like it better than her prior books! It was a really fast, fun read. I hope you love it Debbie! I’ve seen such mixed things about Riders I’m super nervous about it. I’m curious to hear about your final thoughts for Shadow Queen. Have a great week!

  3. There are so many books here that I really want to read! The Girl from Everywhere looks amazing – I think I’m going to love it, and I think Riders looks like my cup of tea too. I hope I get to them in February! I can’t wait for AGOS either 😉

  4. I’m super excited about Stars Above too and actually it will have more than just the epilogue of new stories, so yay! Starflight was pitched as Firefly so I’m down for that one too. I’m def gonna put Call Me, Maybe on my “when I need some fluffy shelf” because I enjoyed all of the other books of this author. The Shadow Queen & The Girl From Everywhere is on my February TBR so I hope to get to them this month! I hope to re-read The Wicked Thing before Kingdom of Ashes too.
