August 2nd

The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson: I’ll be the first to admit that I had a rocky start with this series, but the second book turned it around completely, and now I can’t wait to see how it ends. If it’s anything like the cover indicates, Lia is going to kick some ass. And I am so ready for that.
A Week of Mondays by Jessica Brody: I will never not be drawn to these “Groundhog Day” type stories. I’m very curious about this one – though I haven’t heard too much about it yet.
August 16th

Vicarious by Paula Stokes: I’m currently reading this (again, as I beta read this last year) and I am just as enthralled as I was the first time. Great pacing, action, mystery, and good god, you just have to read this to get to that fabulous mind-blowing ending 😉
Cherry by Lindsey Rosin: Well, Christina basically told me to.
August 30th

Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi: FINALLY A NEW TAHEREH MAFI BOOK. The wait since Ignite Me has been long, and maybe I didn’t expect a middle grade title from her next (
Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown: I am so down for more fluffy F/F romance, and this sounds like it’s going to be completely adorable. Bring. It. On.
[…] In a previous thread, I linked to Epic Reads list of most anticipated books coming in August. The Barnes & Noble Teen Blog has posted its own list of 22 books they are looking forward to in August. The Snuggly Oranges book blog has also posted about the books she is most anticipating getting her hands on in the coming month. […]
Woooooo! Cherry! I hope you enjoy it too. The friendships are really great and strong. There’s a similar vibe to The Unexpected Everything, but, obviously, as it’s focused on ALL of them, none of them gets shafted character-wise.
Georgia Peaches isn’t the fluffiest of fluff, like say Out on Good Behavior, but it’s still def on the fluff spectrum. The ship’s cute, and I looooved the voice. Very recommend.
I’m reading Vicarious soon. I just found my copy hiding in my ALA suitcase; I’d forgotten it was there and only just got it on my reading list, so it’s later than it should have been but at least still pre-pub!
Hahaha, Cherry seems like one of those books that may be flying under the radar though it definitely should not. I kind of got The Revenge Playbook vibes from it – is that kinda accurate? Either way, as soon as I’m low on contemporaries, this one’s on my list.
